  • Básica

By Santa & Cole  At a time when international preferences were leaning towards lamps with metal shafts and dichroic halogen bulbs (in other words, cool beam and touch), the Básica lamp sought to champion other, warmer alternatives. A wooden column, held up by a heavy metal base with the same diameter, supports a range of shades in different shapes and colours. Although the lamp balances well in this format, an optional, wider base may be placed underneath. The Básica lamp heralded a revival of natural materials, such as wood, stitched cardboard or ribbons, and provided Santa & Cole with a springboard for international expansion, generating an alternative current in Europe that challenged prevalent tastes. A more familiar, craftsman-like and gentle form of modernity was being advocated.
  • Trípode G6

By Santa & Cole A bundle of three black tubes, joined like a set of chopsticks, holds up a generous ribbon shade. Trípode is a series conceived to lend plain rooms a warmer touch through the use of colour, and it comprises two sizes of table lamps and a widely known floor version – the G5 – considered to be a genuine icon of contemporary design: conventional, colourful and functional.
  • Pie De Salon

By Santa & Cole Jaume Sans’ public facet portrays him as a surrealist sculptor and painter, and a member of the ADLAN group, the supporters of which included such prominent figures as Dalí, Miró and Calder, all acquaintances of the GATCPAC architects with whom they shared their social venue in Passeig de Gràcia in pre-Spanish Civil War Barcelona. In his private life, Jaume Sans was the father of many children who became big names in the field of Catalan design (such as Pete Sans) and, on occasions, he also created several pieces for family use, such as his Pie de Salón. With a minimalist structure, the central shaft – covered in leather to lend it an improved feel – can be adjusted in height from the top and opens out onto a simple tripod base, allowing the cable to easily pass through. Shades in a range of colours and finishes can be used to give an impression of uncommon, warm, uncomplicated timelessness.
  • Trípode G5

By Santa & Cole A bundle of three black tubes, joined like a set of chopsticks, holds up a generous ribbon shade. Trípode is a series conceived to lend plain rooms a warmer touch through the use of colour. The cotton shades revive long lost handicrafts and generate vivid hues of light. When on, the lamp provides a generous, warm light, and when off, it stands like a large sculpture, lending rooms a touch of class. The Trípode series comprises a floor lamp and a table version in two sizes: Trípode M3 and Trípode G6.
  • GT7

By Santa & Cole The imposing GT7 ribbon shade lamp appears to be similar to the GT5, although it is larger in size, meaning it needed to be strengthened and had to incorporate an upper metal disc (near to the three light sources) as well as the lower light diffusing disc. Ever since the early 1990s, Santa & Cole has championed the use of ribbon shades to embellish all manner of light sources, exploring textiles and experimenting with colours and tones (they even enlisted the help of Raw Color studio). The GT5 was the first in the collection arising as an alternative to the use of continuous textile, methacrylate and cardboard shades. It was followed by the GT6 and, later on, the larger GT7, GT1000 and GT1500, designed for use in public venues owing to their large dimensions. This is a colourful family that is able to change its scale without losing its essence. Size: 44 (H) x 90 (Dia)
  • M68

By Santa & Cole The hugely evocative shade on the M68 lamp immortalises the silhouette of a woman’s shoulders. It is an aluminium re-edition of the famous methacrylate pop lamp from the 1960s – also by Miguel Milá – and it is now available in lively red or matte white, as well as in polished aluminium. Since the shade is opaque, its bell-shape cross section gives it a large inside surface to diffuse the light. The electrical cable runs from the top middle area of the shade along with a tiny metal cylinder that links the shade and the steel wire that holds it aloft. In short, M68 is the friendliest way of lighting a large table. Size: 22 (H) x 46 (Dia)
  • GT5/GT6

By Santa & Cole Conceived for average-size settings and areas in the home, GT5 and GT6 are two ribbon pendant shades that are capable of lending character to any venue by dint of merely being there. Ever since the early 1990s, Santa & Cole has championed the use of ribbon shades to embellish all manner of light sources, exploring textiles and experimenting with colours and tones (they even enlisted the help of Raw Color studio).
